Merry Christmas and other updates

I hope you all had a merry Christmas this year. This was my first one as a college student and first time opening with the adults at family Christmas. I got a fire safe, which my mother added to my Christmas list without my consent, and a scent warmer thing I will never use. Oh well. I got warm clothes, pajamas, a sweatshirt and a sweater, boots, and lots of gloves, so I'm happy.

I also hope to start posting here for a different reason. Once a week, I will be posting a weight update. I haven't been this heavy in my entire life, and it is neither healthy nor okay.  My pants size is bigger than my mother's and she's not a small woman. I'm also ten pounds heavier than her. She's buying me a scale and sending me a dollar for every pound I lose. I need to lose about 70 pounds, so that's a commitment. It's also quite a motivator. An extra $8 a month? I'll take it. Fun money!

Anyway, that's about it for me. I got pretty much straight Bs which is okay. Religion, Satan in Literature, IOC, Stage Combat, Music Theory 1, Cantabile, composition and piano lessons- all done.

Next semester I'm taking Literary Afterlives (retellings and adaptions in literature-doesn't sound like me at all. I may get to use my beauty and the beast research as well) intro to communication, radio production and broadcasting, Spanish, cantabile (choir) and  composition and voice lessons. It's gonna be awesome.

How to tell if parents have no imagination...

So, I don't know if you know this (you probably don't), but I am kind of obsessed with baby names.  I think that's the reason I started writing- I ran out of dolls to name!  Anyway, I've been spending a lot of time on Yahoo! Answers helping parents-to-be name their kids... and keeping them away from names like Warrior.

I made up a family with some... interesting names.  So here's my little story.

Once upon a time, there was a woman named Mary Sue Johnson.  She met a man named Marty Stu Anderson.  Mary and Marty fell in love, and soon married.  Within the first year of  their marriage, they became pregnant.  Nine months later, Mary gave birth to a little girl.  Unsure of what to name her, they chose Abcde, the first five letters of the alphabet.  (Pronounce Ab-sid-dee).  Abcde grew up and when she was three, Mary and Marty decided that Abcde needed a little brother or sister.  Mary became pregnant again.  When she went in for her first ultrasound, she found out she was pregnant with quadruplets!  When they were finally born, they named the first boy Jay.  The rest were all girls, and were named Kaye, Elle, and Em.

So the Anderson family now consists of:
Abcde Anderson
Jay Anderson
Kaye Anderson
Elle Anderson
Em Anderson

..... The end.

Changing the subject, my brothers got an Xbox 360 for Christmas, so that's what they're playing right now.  My sister and I got bedding.  It's very colorful... this is what it looks like:
I'll be posting a picture of it in our room soon, but she has the striped side up and I have the other side up (shown in this picture).  She currently has fleece sheets on her bed instead of the ones that came with it because she's always cold, but I have all the sheets on.  Neither of us can use the striped bedskirt since I have a loft bed and she has a captain's bed with drawers underneath, so my project over break will be turning our bedskirts into a valance for our window, and maybe making a few throw pillows out of the leftovers. This is kind of a big deal for us since we have had the same bedding since we were like, 3 and 5.  At least a good 10 years.  Elli was the one who picked it out and, surprisingly, I actually liked it.  She usually picks out little kiddish pink things with kittens and ladybugs and cupcakes on it, while I like anything purple, things with big flowers (sometimes) and bright colors, and despise anything pastel or with characters or animals or ruffles on it.  I also was going to make a music note quilt for my bed until she found this.  Here's a picture of what I was planning to make:
maybe I'll make a pillowcase or something... a bag? I don't know.

okay, I'm finally going to post this... I meant to post this weeks ago... but I got distracted (something that never happens to me... right, Haili, right...*sarcastic*)

I have officially titled my book!!!

Okay, so today I decided on a title.  Please welcome to the world of NaNoWriMo noveling, Written in the Stars.  By me.  I am also trying out a new software called Celtx which I'm super excited about.  It's for novels and plays and screenplays.  I'll be taking an online class at my college called "Intro to Creative Writing for Stage and Screen" next semester, so this might come in handy... especially if I do Script Frenzy... which I'm still debating.  But I definitely can't wait until next November for NaNo again, so I'll see you at Camp NaNo!  (Yes, the story of Calista cannot wait until November.  I've decided she's blind, so the new title is "Beauty is Blind" should be interesting since I love first person...hmm)
I printed out a copy of my manuscript today- all 134 pages of it.  Single spaced, back to back.  It's still huge.  It's awesome.  I started editing and found a few mistakes.  Word drives me nuts because it's all like didn't' when I type didnt' which is annoying because of the autocorrect... so I've got to fix that...

Okay, moving on.  Happy December!  My birthday is 8 days away!  YAY!  Anyway, last year my little brother and I did a duet of "When Christmas Comes to Town" from The Polar Express.  I'm going to try to embed the youtube here.  However, should this fail to work, here's the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FGE_Cm3IcA

Anyway, consider this your early Christmas present.  I'm working on a few videos now that NaNo is over and I'll be posting stuff on my youtube of me singing in preparation for the auditions for the musical in February.  Which is the Enchantment of Beauty and the Beast... my favorite fairy tale, if you can't tell...

okay... I'm going to go and practice "There's been a Change in Me"  so that I can post it as soon as possible.
:D

I'm catching up!!!!

Yes!!!  4,479 words later and I'm 1,918 words a day (doable) away from winning NaNo!  And guess what?  My story is moving along just fine!!!!!!  I've got a lot of places to go!

Okay, I've had an awesomely productive day!!!
Enough exclaimation points, already, miss Haili!!

Good morning world
hope you've had a fun black friday- cuz I spent it writing!  or getting distracted and not writing.

Yeah, in the time I was not writing, I figured out
1. my graduation cake
2. my graduation theme colors (red for both my high school and college of choice CSB SJU)
3. my prom dress color (also red, though my favorite color is purple)
4. the tiara I want to wear to prom
5. how to make andes mint filling a christmas cake I'm making, because there aren't enough birthdays in my family, and my mom always gets a strawberry pie and my sister always wants an ice cream cake, so I don't get to make their cakes
6. that I'm going to make Carmel Apple Cheesecake when I finish my novel

yes, I will post pictures of some of these tomorrow, or later today... whenever

Also, I'm currently listening to Air1 christmas
Do you like to listen to christmas music before Thanksgiving?  Someone got really upset because Air1 posted an online station for Christmas music in early Nov.  I frankly couldn't care.  I was practicing Melody Bober's Angel Medley in June, so it really makes no difference to me whatsoever.

I'll be playing background music at my church next weekend, so I have to practice.
Anyway, I have to work tomorrow so I need to get to sleep (I'm going to MOA to work at Nickolodeon Universe with my mom to earn money to go to Chicago with my band this spring)
